Nailed It! Removing Gel Polish at Home

Gel polish is definitely a game-changer when it comes to having long-lasting, chip-free nails. However, when it's time to remove it, it can be a bit of a hassle to go to the salon. Luckily, removing gel polish at home is a lot easier than you think. Follow these simple steps and you'll be back to your natural nails in no time.

1. Gather your supplies: acetone, cotton balls, aluminum foil, a cuticle pusher, and a file.

2. File the top layer of your gel polish to remove the shiny finish. This will allow the acetone to penetrate better.

3. Soak the cotton balls in acetone and place them on top of each nail.

4. Wrap each fingertip with a piece of aluminum foil to hold the cotton balls in place.

5. Let your nails soak for 10-15 minutes. During this time, you can put on a face mask or catch up on your favorite tv show.

6. After 15 minutes, gently push the gel polish off with a cuticle pusher. Be careful not to damage your natural nails.

7. If there is still some stubborn gel polish left, you can repeat the process by soaking your nails for another 5-10 minutes.

8. Once all of the gel polish is removed, use a file to shape and smooth your natural nails.

9. Apply a nourishing cuticle oil to rehydrate your nails and cuticles.

10. Admire your newly polished natural nails and go treat yourself to a hand massage.

Removing gel polish at home can be a breeze with the right tools and know-how. Plus, you can save yourself time and money by not having to go to the salon. Happy removing!
